#8

Alright folks, it has been about a month now, so i figure it is time for another sit-down. plus im at work and surprise surprise im super bored. I just read mel's comment on my last blog, and i have to send a shout-out to the pretty girl who i just adore - thanks for being you my dear!

Now let's see...what has happened in the past month? i went to vancouver for the weekend and spent WAY more money then i meant to spend, so when i got my visa bill this month it kinda hurt a bit. my dad is an absolute sweatheart though and said that if i did some extra chores around the house, he would cover some of my expenses. love him. and chores there are, let me tell you. My mom had breast re-construction surgery last weekend (it's a good surgery don't worry). she had breast cancer 6 years ago and had a (im going to screw up the spelling on this sooo bad) masectommy, and now she finally got the re-construction surgery and we are all really happy for her, the only problem is she's basically out of commision for 6 weeks so that means i have to clean the house from top to bottom, make food, clean dishes, do laundry, plus work two jobs and go to school. so i have been busy, but sometimes busy is good.

Also lately i have been having a love affair with soup..from safeway. they make the best darn soup, if anyone is a soup fan, try the tomato tuscan and basil bisque - to die for!

Also, last night i saw the duchess. it was AMAZING! however, because i read the book i need to vent some frustrations - first off, georgianna doesn't meet charles grey at anytime untill after she gives the duke a son. second, her sister Harriot is a main character in the book and she is not even mentioned in the movie. thirdly, her and bess remain best friends for their whole lives regardless of the fact that bess is sleeping with the duke. BUT other then leaving those few things out, the movie was one of my favorite period films and one of the best book/to/movies i've ever seen. well done! And lucky me, before i went to the movie (in portage place), i went to starbucks to read for a bit before i met my sister, and im enjoying myself when this strange man comes up to me and starts talking to me. and im thinking how on earth do i slip in the fact that i have a boyfriend (my standard answer for getting rid of creeps, not necessarily the truth), and anyways he was just beyond wierd, but then we starting talking about church, and i said i went to springs and he's like, "oh do you know so-and-so?" i stop dead. im like, ya um..i went to high school with them. him - "oh so you went to mbci? - my dad used to teach there." ok so now at this point im totally marveling not only how weird this guy is, but also how stinking small winnipeg is. turns out his dad worked there way before i went there, but seriously it was wierd. short story long, i told him i was late to meet someone and booked it out of there. phew. it was quite a night. and yet another reminder as to why one should never be at portage place alone after 6pm.
