hello everyone. so it has been awhile, once again since the last entry. and i have moved up to the front office at work, and therefore have lots of time and computer access on my hands, so i think or should hope anyways, that the entrys will become more of a regular thing.

The last time i wrote was just after the new year. me and mel went out to the bar with some friends, got kinda drunk, danced up a storm, and then i sent her on her way. well actually she left on a plane, but same thing.

also around this time, i started dating this guy. my brother-in-law works with him and thought we'd hit it off. so it was my first blind date, and i was pretty nervous, but it turned out ok. and then we went out a second time right before new years. we played pool and he won one game, and i won one, so i bet him that the loser of the next game has to pay for dinner. and he ended up losing, wither on purpose or not i can't say - he sunk the eight ball. now he plays in a pool league so i assumed he knew what he was doing, but it was a wild shot so..anyways, regardless, he ended up buying dinner. which was great. the only thing better then dinner is free dinner.

then we decided to see a moose game later on in the week. i also gave him a test - if he texted me on new years, then he was interested. because you see, we had already seen each other the day before new years and exchanged happy new years wishes. so i went out of town with mel for new years, but when i turned my phone back on in the city - there it was. a message from him. he passed the test...or so i thought.

then we go to the moose game a few days later and all is good. we're joking and laughing and such. then we are driving home and he's like, "hey, do you want to do something else?" and i say, "ya do you just want to go watch a movie at my place." so we do. and we're sitting on a love seat couch pretty close and yada yada yada, the movie goes on and...he doesn't make a move. i was like, what? ok, maybe he's waiting till he leaves. so the movie's done, and i get up to take it out of the player, and expect him to get up and get ready to leave. but no. he remains seated. so i go back down and sit beside him. ok now i made sure that i was sitting facing him, and the lights are still off, and the moonlight is pooring in through the window, and how could this not be a better setting for some serious action. but no, we just end up talking for another 20 mintues or so, and believe me there was ackward pauses applently and all he had to do was lean over...anyways, as he was leaving he was like, "ok..well...ok..." and i of course said the same thing. and still nothing. and then he left. i was shocked. not to sound cocky or anything, but that has NEVER happened to me. like i mean NEVER. how can somebody just not make a move! so i was wiered out, and that was the last time we went out. we texted a few times, and made concrete plans awhile back, but the dumbass texted me like 2 hours before we were supposto go out and said he was staying in, but really wanted to hang out next weekend. i was like, ha - don't think so. i mean talk about mixed messages! first him seems all into it, then after the movie he's suddenly not? strange stuff...

so the moral of this story is, jump a guy right away because at least if it doesn't work out, you get to make-out for alittle while. and let's face it, alittle action never hurt anyone. and then once that is accomplished, you can kick him to the curb. oh snap.

Alright, so apparently the last time i blogged was back in october of 08. And i can say that now cause it's january of 09. january 2nd that is. So what all has happened in my life since october? well, stay awhile and i shall give you the short version:
Basically november was spent with my nose in my books, and i finished exams on the 5th of december. so now what does a girl do with a full month off you ask? work full time of course. so i have been folding and washing linen since then, all the gloriousness of it shining through. at least the mouse population is in hibernation, so it's not so bad. And today i am in the front office so i have lots of free time to blog and be bored and stalk on the internet because apparently we are one of the only places open today so nobody has been calling in. phew. and soon i will read my book, that is if i don't fall asleep first.
So mel came back into town a few weeks ago and life has been crazy busy. but SO enjoyable. And christmas was pretty much awesome because my family rocks. on tuesday night (the 23rd), my folks and i are having dinner. so i decided to nag them AGAIN about getting a treadmill. and of course my dad ended up saying that no one was going to use it, and it was too much money, blah blah blah. so i end up getting really mad and told them i was just going to go out and buy it myself if they were too cheap to do it. And then i go into the basement to change and what is sitting there with a bow on it? yup. the treadmill. now don't i feel stupid.
And under the tree was more goodies, like a trip to mexico with mel. soooo pumped. it's gonna be killer. and i got a coffee maker from my brother-in-law which im ridiculously excited for. and of course starbucks coffee. excellent.
And new years was a blast - went to mel's uncle's cabin. snowmobiled for the day, had a fantastic time!
And now that you're all caught up that just leaves tonight and tommorow - me and mel's one last hurrah. a good bye to winnipeg if you will. and because we are saving the best for last, im sure i will have LOTS to blogg about...lol...just you wait and see.

Alright folks, it has been about a month now, so i figure it is time for another sit-down. plus im at work and surprise surprise im super bored. I just read mel's comment on my last blog, and i have to send a shout-out to the pretty girl who i just adore - thanks for being you my dear!

Now let's see...what has happened in the past month? i went to vancouver for the weekend and spent WAY more money then i meant to spend, so when i got my visa bill this month it kinda hurt a bit. my dad is an absolute sweatheart though and said that if i did some extra chores around the house, he would cover some of my expenses. love him. and chores there are, let me tell you. My mom had breast re-construction surgery last weekend (it's a good surgery don't worry). she had breast cancer 6 years ago and had a (im going to screw up the spelling on this sooo bad) masectommy, and now she finally got the re-construction surgery and we are all really happy for her, the only problem is she's basically out of commision for 6 weeks so that means i have to clean the house from top to bottom, make food, clean dishes, do laundry, plus work two jobs and go to school. so i have been busy, but sometimes busy is good.

Also lately i have been having a love affair with soup..from safeway. they make the best darn soup, if anyone is a soup fan, try the tomato tuscan and basil bisque - to die for!

Also, last night i saw the duchess. it was AMAZING! however, because i read the book i need to vent some frustrations - first off, georgianna doesn't meet charles grey at anytime untill after she gives the duke a son. second, her sister Harriot is a main character in the book and she is not even mentioned in the movie. thirdly, her and bess remain best friends for their whole lives regardless of the fact that bess is sleeping with the duke. BUT other then leaving those few things out, the movie was one of my favorite period films and one of the best book/to/movies i've ever seen. well done! And lucky me, before i went to the movie (in portage place), i went to starbucks to read for a bit before i met my sister, and im enjoying myself when this strange man comes up to me and starts talking to me. and im thinking how on earth do i slip in the fact that i have a boyfriend (my standard answer for getting rid of creeps, not necessarily the truth), and anyways he was just beyond wierd, but then we starting talking about church, and i said i went to springs and he's like, "oh do you know so-and-so?" i stop dead. im like, ya um..i went to high school with them. him - "oh so you went to mbci? - my dad used to teach there." ok so now at this point im totally marveling not only how weird this guy is, but also how stinking small winnipeg is. turns out his dad worked there way before i went there, but seriously it was wierd. short story long, i told him i was late to meet someone and booked it out of there. phew. it was quite a night. and yet another reminder as to why one should never be at portage place alone after 6pm.

so...the olympics are over, micheal phelps has a girlfriend, and i am back at school. what a busy few weeks. Again i am bored at work, so i thought i would catch you all up on what has been going on. (or in other words, i thought i'd fill mel in cause i think she's the only one who reads this...and i think it's more of a pity read anyways...but i will take what i can get) Mel decended onto our lovely province last night and i can't wait to see her! and next week is her brother's wedding and they were kind enough to invite me so i will be there scopping out the scene looking for hot boys. it better not dissapoint. If it does, there is a party we might hit up afterwards that could prove to be most promising.
School started last week, and so far no complaints. there is lots of work but i just keep telling myself that i only have a few more months to go, and then things always look much better.
Tonight im going to order chinese food and invite some people over and hopefully they will decline so i can have it all to myself...geez. anyways, someone just came into the store so i shall depart for now...until i am bored again...

Alright, well to start off i must get something off my chest - i've been disloyal to Ryan Dinwiddie. He was once my hottie, but i have since changed my mind. sorry Ryan. Micheal Phelps is all that and a bag of chips as far as im concerned. I have stayed home every night this week, refusing to see anyone because i must watch the sexyist man alive swim his meets. and he doesn't dissapoint. His body is amazing, and i am addicted to the Olympics because of him. Tonight is his final swim, and it's the relay. i hope his teammates don't let him down and he can beat Mark Spitz's record.
On the other side of things, not much new to report. work is good on both fronts, school starts soon and i can't wait to finally be done. December baby. And don't ask me what im going to do after wards, i have NO idea. im just gonna take it one day at a time and see where life decides to take me.
I went to a stagette last weekend and had a blast! it was so much fun, especially going to pita pit with nicola, and then walking back to the bar down the pembina bridge by myself. why is it that whenever i drink i seem to find myself stumbling around outside? sigh..who knows. at least i didn't get frostbite this time. Amison's wedding is next weekend, and of course i have been stressing for months aobut what to wear. I went to old navy (sshh..don't tell anyone), and found a black dress that im going to spiff up and hopefully no one will guess where it's from. i just can't pass up getting a dress for 40 bucks, it's too good. speaking of deals, last night i went to zellers (they were on cityline fashion friday) and i was looking quite dishelved and of course i had to run into people i knew. i was like, "it's friday night at zellers for pete sake" but it was Gary from work and his beautiful wife so it was ok. ANYWAYS, the point of this was to say that zellers pretty much rocks. they have great clothes that they knock off from designers, it's super cheap, and no body shops there so you don't have to worry about people knowing where you got something from. unlike Joe, which i love, dont get me wrong, but EVERYBODY knows it's Joe, and EVERYBODY is wearing it and what's the point in trying to be original if everyone is wearing the same thing?

So today i am at work, and because we are slow i will take this time to reflect on the past week. Basically i never slept and went out with mel lots which was grand. I really do not have much to talk about but i'm bored so here goes. Im reading my gossip mags and reading a book pretty much at the same time which is fun. after work im heading to chapters to buy more books cause im almost done my last one. it was good, i wouldn't recommend it to others though because it's written as a biography and it can get a little boring. i want romance and mushy stuff like that to wittle the time away while i read. this one requires alittle too much thought.

Anyways, i got good news on tuesday - my proff gave us an extra week for our papers, so i can work on it for a little longer which is great cause i don't even have a topic picked out yet.

As im looking out the window im hoping that we have some nice weekends in august so i can get somewhat of a tan. but then again even if i sit out in the sun all day you would never be able to tell. i suppose when im 80 and have no wrinkles i will be proud of my extremely pale skin.

So mel mentioned something to me the other day that i thought was interesting - how come when you're walking somewhere and a guy totally checks you out and gives you that little "i like what i see" smile, he just keeps walking. she thought they should just stop and ask you out. i suggest they are afraid of the fear of rejection. so my theory is that people should wear a big sign on their head that says "single" or "taken". this might solve that problem.

On a side note - Ryan Dinwiddie is smoking hot. just thought i'd throw that out there.

So i have just arrived home from the lake after a beautiful weekend with my best friend. It's late and i should be in bed right now cause i know i'll be kicking myself tommorow morning when the alarm clock goes off. but anyways, i had a wonderful time with melly furtado, even though we got the atv stuck in the mud and i swear i still don't know how the heck we got it out of there...mel was litterally side-ways in the mud, but after about an hour of getting eaten alive by bugs, we managed to push/wench it the heck out of there. it didn't help that the atv we were wenching it out was on the bottom of a huge hill and we couldn't get it up the hill in reverse to pull the atv that was stuck out...the wonders of women power, let me tell you. Anyways, this week should be something to look forward to, im actually going to leave the confines of my house and go out! i think me and mel have something plannned for every night this week so that should be a blast! and to top it off i have a HUGE paper due next tuesday that i will be spending sunday working on...ain't life grand. i really should learn to plan ahead better, but that way i would have nothing to complain about, and if i had nothing to complain about i would never speak.
